FREDERICKTOWN, OH (April 2, 2018) — Schafer Driveline, LLC in Fredericktown, OH., recently was awarded the Yamaha REVS Supplier Certification. It is one of five of Yamaha Golf Car Company’s 130 suppliers to have achieved this recognition. To earn the award, Schafer Driveline had to complete a rigorous two-year audit to prove its excellence in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality management systems and advanced product quality planning.
The certification places the manufacturer of golf car axles in Yamaha’s elite Supplier Kaizen Program. This gives Schafer Driveline employees access to all of Yamaha’s onsite and online training programs including specialized training from its engineers. It also has support from Yamaha’s internal continuous improvement team and its facilitated kaizens used to improve quality.
Schafer Driveline is one of the largest manufacturers of small axles for golf cars and light utility vehicles in the world and is the only golf car axle manufacturer in the U.S.A. In addition, it also designs and builds axles and transmissions for high-speed ATVs and side-by-sides. Because Schafer makes the gears, axle assemblies and brake assemblies, it is the most complete driveline supplier on the market.
Schafer Industries was established in 1934 and was acquired by HBM Holdings in 2017. The company is a diversified supplier to a variety of markets in North America including leisure vehicles, material handling, mining, power transmission, construction, locomotive, aircraft, medical, as well as automotive and heavy-duty truck markets.
